By the way, once i find a similar "overview" on Last 50 years russian coach, where the autor explain (very generlically) how do they train. Could someone tell where I can find this web page I conuldnt find anymore?

In regards to power lifting, I would think much of the way you train depends upon the federation that you want to compete in as well as if you want to do Gear or RAW. Simmons clearly has champion power lifters and uses a combination of the Russian and Bulgarian models with his "conjugate periodization" techniques. He essentially advocates maxing a different special exercise on many the max days and then alternating with speed work where you are at 50-60% of 1RM for 10x2 (10 sets of 2 reps). Granted, methods vary and evolve but, this is the basis that I got from reading Westside material. While he also advocates steroid use as a major method of recovery, his training practices still produce results.

With regards to weightlifting. I personally think that more lifters need to spend more time doing the competition lifts heavy. I have seen a lot of coaches keep their athletes light and work the moves with light weight for 5+ reps. Granted these are strength coaches and not lifting coaches so, that might show you there the misunderstanding. I have gotten more benefit out of Bulgarian style training then anything but, I cycle a little differently then they do and actually spend 2 months every year not touching the lifts. I spend this time to explore some other sport or get my general fitness up with pushups, pullups and light running.  Always good to take a break in my opinion. Keeps me interested in the sport.

The Chinese and Koreans interest me. I would love to read some of their material if it is ever translated...or published for that matter.

I repete, I'm in IPF, where you need to do
full squat,
paused bench press and locked out
full deadlift.  NO joke or half lifts. We are in IOC, we use the same wada control of weightlifting (exaclty the same, i'm in coucil of my national federation and i know perfectly WADA situation)

Simmons training theory has big lack in every part of his test. First of all a bed reading of Zatsiorsky book.
Not a chance that he NEVER train a lifter who ever kept a medal at world championship.
I'm sorry but I must tell you the truth:
Simmons was Champion of NOTHING but marketing.  Great coach in powerlifting training are other, less famouse to western web readers, but others.

What are the details of distributed load method? I've read that it does not lead to the greatest gains due to accomodation.
