I see Nahla Ramadan is back for Egypt, this time in 75+ kg. If you recall her story, she was quite a good lifter in the 75 kg class earlier in this decade, but she was kicked off the Egyptian team in 2008 for failing to appear at a training camp. She must be willing to play along now.

In the past, World Weightlifting magazine has praised her for her attractiveness as well as her strength.

Actually it was 2005 and she got kicked with fellow lifter Esmat Mansour El Sayed but the issues were a bit more complex.

Here's a little writing about it.

Egypt have a new 75kg lifter now, Abdel Rahman Khalil Abir having moved up from 69kg. My second favourite lifter of the 75s after Podobedova, finished 4th at age 17, impressively powerful lifter with a pretty unusual jerk. She actually finished 3rd in the 75+ class in the 2009 junior Worlds weighing in at 75.33 (the winner weighed in at 118kg). That she's also a very attractive lifter is a bonus.

Egyptian lifters often use weird jerks. I don't know what they are called.  I expected Abdel to do new 69+ youth world record after she did 111 + 142 - best women in sinclair - in Eleiko cup but it didn't happen. Owner of those records is surprise surprise Tatyana Kashirina.
