He was Junior World Champion this year.  However, it said on the IWF website he will not be going, only 4 Iranians will be there, 62, 85, 94, and super.  Interestingly Iran has the super heavyweight Youth and Junior World Champion and after the Senior worlds they will have swept the supers at all three world champions in the same year because Ali Hosseini should win no problem.

I'm kind of disspointed, no klokov, no steiner, no chigishev, no kolecki, no illya; and what the hell is aramnua doing there I thought he was suspended?

Chigishev is injured a bit. Steiner isn't in "top" form. Kolecki had to have a second knee surgery. Klokov is injured.

Ilya, being the eccentric character that he is, has gotten himself into all sorts of "ordeals" lately. He is taking time off until January because his body needs a rest and his girlfriend/wife/baby's momma/whatever is having a baby this month.  Also, he is in some hot water with the federation and national coaches (reportedly) because he is claiming he was not being paid his stipend anymore after declaring time off until 2010 a little while ago and his coaches are pissed he is taking time off and won't return his phone calls or something to that extent. The Federation is claiming he is being paid in full etc etc

Watch for Vlademir Sedov (KAZ) 94kg. Did 187/220 at their nationals recently. Polovnikov (RUS) did 180/226 at the Russian Cup. It will still be exciting.

Aramnau is also in an interesting situation. From what I remember he has to compete AND WIN to regain his stipend. He claims he currently is the poorest athlete in Belarus. He has to walk to training every day and is no longer training with the national team because his coaches did not support him after his incidents and according to him they recommended the stiffest penalty. As a result, he decided to go back home and train with his personal coach. He did 190/220 last month but looked pudgy. I have not seen video of the lifts. I think he will still medal if not win but I don't expect world records because of his training situation. Lapikov is capable if 200+ in the snatch if he shows up mentally so it won't be easy for Aramnau this year IMO.

The chinese lifters in the lower categories will be fun to watch. I'm almost 100% sure they'll get gold in 56, 62, 69, 77 and 85. And what's up with Rybakou's entering total? (370)

Rybakou always puts in low entry totals, I guess because his C&J is still very much his weak lift and can go either way.
