According to a news article

-------------
Iranian heavyweight lifter, Saeed Ali-Hosseini, has set new records in the snatch, clean and jerk and total categories during his training session.

The 21-year-old athlete lifted 485kg in the total category during his training session in Chaboksar in northern Iran on Wednesday.

Ali-Hosseini lifted 215kg in the snatch category and 270kg in clean and jerk.

Iran's Hossein Rezazadeh is the current world record holder with 213kg in snatch and 263.5kg in clean and jerk.

The Iranian lifter is preparing himself for the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships to be held in South Korea in November.

Ali-Hosseini stands third after Germany's Matthias Steiner and Russia's Evgeny Alexandrovich Chigishev in the latest International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) rankings in the +105 kg category.

This same guy set new junior world records late last year in Korea at the Asian Juniors

He lifted 206+246 = 451

There was another junior stupendo from Iran but he was suspended earlier this year, and his records were eclipsed by the guy above.

Truly, amazing. Iran must be doing something interesting behind closed doors.

it will be interesting to see if he even comes close to 215 and 270 at the worlds, see how much getting clean costs the lifts, or is Iran is just making stuff up to intimidate the rest of the lifters.

Should be cool!

Its a bit presumptuous to jump to the drug talk. I mean, look how thick that guy is. He looks a lot like big Rez. Either way, impressive numbers. I remember in Dreschler's book he mentioned a 220kg snatch done in training and something close to 273 in the clean and jerk. It's too bad Taraenko's lifts aren't being looked at...268kg...wow.

If this guy is legit he could very well break the 600lb mark. That is awesome. I can barely deadlift that weight. Wish I could intern with the coaches of Iran.

Wish I could watch it...or see it at your house Shaun. Sadly, I can't afford the plane ticket and am not a strong swimmer. Hopefully Strossen will be there, tape it and I can buy it from him.
