Hi brooks,
The less pronounced back arch together with the elaborate setup and over descending in the squat was a signal for me of tiredness and ATP fuel depletion, that is why I mentioned it in the discussion. As you mention, a more pronouced arch with thrust out chest and scapulae close together is efficient because you upper body becomes a more rigid lever for better force transfer. That would translate in a better recieving position. but be careful with the more pronounced arching at first, your back has to get used to it.
