Doh!
« on: Oct 03, 2009, 07:26 AM »
I have still failed to meet my goal of snatching my own
body weight. I have been out of training for a long while.
I noticed that gym folks are nice to bums. I was homeless
for a while in 2008 and also this year (passport troubles
abroad) and noticed that when you freeze, not stink
so much you can go in the gym and check the equipment
and pretend to be a customer. Do a proper deep squat
and people smile. In Hamburg I got 2 weeks free in a gym
despite being a bum. Alas I had no clothes to change into,
otherwise I would have gone there just for shower.
I still can do my one leg squats so hope is not out
on my goal as a snatcher.

Ouch, more importantly than snatching your body weight, has your job and housing situation improved?

I have housing now and I have just began going back to a gym.
I have no job right now but the disability benefits are enough
to pay for gym card and lentils and soy beans.

I have also noticed that there now is an active club doing
olympic lifting in town. I think it's the members of a
powerlifting club who decided to try something new.
