I see I mentioned the same study.  I asked around about the milk issue before, and was told it was 'propaganda' and a quack theory.

Yea, they called us quacks when we said obama is an extremist socialist also. :)

I'm not going to respond anymore as this topic is obviously borderline off-topic politics, but here is some info:

Of course it is worth investigating (with or without considering gross corporate immorality).  I was basically informed that there are so many factors involved in cancer that to isolate milk as a cause is very difficult.

I see they sold part of their business to Eli Lilly.  I'm sure they won't mind causing cancer for more profits.

That video looks great for ratings, but not for what is going on biologically.

Sorry I didn't intend for it to become off topic or political.  I was just wondering if anyone had some research on the topic or if anyone who was coaching athletes saw a difference in those who did or did not eat organic.  I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a significant effect on training.

No worries. Everything in life is political at one level or another. IMO, no, it won't affect training.

Andy,

I would say that the effects of organic/non-organic nutrition on recovery rate of athletes in training would be miniscule.  Further, I don't think you could even measure any such effect statisically.  Your body doesn't know the difference if you are eating an organic orange or a non-organic orange.

I have a rule that I learned from a functional training conference called the Basic 95% rule.  The rule basically states 95% of what an athlete does is basic.  So many coaches and athletes who get experience start to spend a lot of time and effort on that 5% and end up neglecting the Basic 95%.  An example would be working on a slight variation of the bar path neglecting the squat.  Another would be becoming anal about organic foods over basic nutrition.

Research!

People should stop going off their opinion/anecdotal evidence and look to where things really are...if more people did, there would be a LOT less riff raff (i.e. acupuncture, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, outlandish claims by massage therapists, etc)

So, organic or not....?

The above post regarding ART was for Matt.
