USAW Sr. Coach Course and Weightlifting Camp

I just got back from a great week at the Sr. Coach Course (Level II) and the USAW Weightlifting Camp at the Moorestown Weightlifting Club! The course was oustanding with lectures by Ellyn Robinson and Leo Totten. These 2 know their stuff and the technical information was presented in a very fun format.
The combination of the course with the weightlifting camp and the Garden State Games was an awesome way to learn and then get practical experience at the same time. There were 29 athletes at camp ranging from 13 years old to over 50 years old. There were mostly male lifters but 7 female lifters also participated. The lifters were beginners to nationally ranked in the top 5 or 10 in their weight class. The experience of learning from the great coaches associated with East Coast Gold and Moorestown Weightlifting Club was more than I can articulate with my limited vocabulary.
The coaching course had candidates from Michigan, Florida, Maryland, Utah, California, Washington, Colorado, Indiana and more, I'm sure. One of the candidates was a 3 time Olympian and multiple national champion. Another was from a Strongman background and getting into weightlifting himself. All of the coaches wanted to learn and network. Mission accomplished!
I would highly recommend the course next summer to anyone here who wants to take the Regional Coach Course. The Moorestown Gang have a great situation running the course in conjunction with the weightlifting camp and the Garden State Games. If you are at all thinking about it, do it you won't regret it!
