I don't discount drugs being involved (or perhaps not being involved in this case), but to dismissively insinuate that as the only reason he lost, I don't agree with.

I am sure Long is concerned about an inner-country meet and all, seeing as how he just won a GOLD medal at the Olympics. He's probably training like it too, just like this other guy who has something to prove.

So weight classes are always won by the same people.......I guess everyone else should stop lifting.

Since pretty much all but the 56kg class had the same winners as always that must mean China is a non-drug supported system.

I am making no such insinuation. Doping allows lifters to rise to the top in a rapid fashion not possible otherwise. It seems we are in agreement.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Same as Kolecki and Ilya being so good so young. And Naim and Mutlu of course.

Sure, I am surprised the statement caused any controversy. I know there are a few naive people out there that think there is no doping that isn't caught in our sport but the majority clearly understand it is widespread. Personally, I would like to see drug testing ended entirely. It doesn't work and shows no signs it will ever work. It merely causes corruption and punishes the innocent along with the guilty.

I wouldn't say its that people think there's no doping, most just don't care anymore; if everyone is assumed to be doping, the strongest guy still wins

I don't care anymore either. In fact, I wish I had never posted in this thread.  :)thumbsup
