...The bar rack is padded of course so it won't scratch your bar...

What can I do to pad my bar rack? I am probably getting a cheap squat rack for my birthday. At the price point this rack sells for, if I had to venture a guess, I bet it doesn't have a padded rack. On the other hand I have invested in a nice Olympic lifting bar that cost me $300. So I would like to protect that baby from scratching.

Thanks for help.

Brian,

Actually, we are having some trouble getting the rack padding done the way I want, which is why I removed that from the description of the racks in the store. Still, I have a decent temporary solution ready to go while I work on something permanent. So, if the padding is a deal breaker, no worries- just let me know after your order and I'll put it on, the same stuff I have been using for at least 12 years. Another option, not quite as cool as what I am using, is just to wrap some white tape around the metal.

The J hooks look plenty big

to use a variety of things for making bar protectors,

taping them on where the bar does not usually touch

so you don't get that sticky residue in the knurling.

Chris, GREAT SQUAT STANDS bud.   Almost end up purchasing the Ironmind ones.  thanks for saving the money.   I've trained on the Ironmind at my buddy house, and yours are more sturdy and don't rattle at all.   The J-Hook is fine without the padding, really.  It would be nice.  but it really doesn't damage my bar at all.
Great Job again.   Hey, I am also ready to purchase those Jerk Boxes.   When are they going to be available.

New guy here, HI :)
I bought the WE squat stands and wanted to put them through several workouts before reviewing.  I can say without reservation that these are well worth the money that WE is asking.  Alex and Chris were very helpful with emails and phone calls ensuring my satisfaction.  The rack itself is very nice.  Super heavy duty.  My favorite thing about them is how you can get just the right height for whatever your doing because of the adjustment hole arrangement.  The bar catch padding is great, as is the horizontal adjustment.  I recommend the powder coating, it's done very well, and looks like it will hold up for years.  The $350 asking price is a bargin for what you're getting.
