Unless you are well 6+ or well over 6 feet you don't need it.  I have both and thereis no difference. I am 6'1.

hey chris, you might want to put the sizing chart for the shorts on your site somewhere for ease in ordering, just an fyi so people know what to get

Regarding the question, "Can you use the Coreshorts in a competition?" Is use of such gear opening the door to the farce powerlifting has become?

At the recent Arnold Sports Fest I watched a little of the powerlifting and those competitors were so wrapped up in "gear" that I have no idea what a competitor can actually lift. I heard a competitor say he needed at least 365 on the bar just so he could get the bar to contact his chest!

I'd hate for Olympic lifting to be ruined in a similar manner.

They are nothing close to "supportive" gear as in helping support the weight. They "support" your nads, groin, glutes with COMPRESSION. They are simply compression shorts. The difference from normal compression shorts is the compression is provided mainly in specific areas and directions. They are not "Gear". Weight Belt and wrist wraps are WAY more supportive.

If they were pushing that line, I wouldn't sell them. I am a purist. I don't consider these shorts any more of a lift enhancer than a simple singlete. And, I would say whether you wear them in the contest or not is not a big deal. The supportive benefits will hopefully reduce chronic issues through long term use. I don't believe one day with or without them would make much of a difference. Also, making them even tighter, like squat suits, is not going to be beneficial either as it would restrict motion and speed.

I bought a pair of PRO the shorts from Chris and have been using them for about a week.  I got them on an experiment to see how they would help with my femoralacetabular impingement (sp?).  I have found these shorts are really helpful.  The main trouble lift I had problems with was the snatch, my hip would catch sometimes.  I have found with wearing the shorts that so far no catches and my hips actually feel better with them on.  It probably wont correct the problem but they have not felt this good in a long time and they feel better wearing them when not.  Now I seem to have more problems with my hip acting up while not wearing them then with them on.  I definitely recommend people at least give them a try if they have some kinds of hip problems.
