Good quality day. Ran a couple 800s and then went to the gym. Did a bunch of jump-roping to start out. Then, went to Snatch and made a 10# PR, now 165. SOOOO CLOSE on 170 twice. Did a couple triples with Power Clean & Power Jerk, more jump roping, abs, and called it a day.  Going to be on a 1.5 week lifting hiatus to ensure adequate recovery for my 200m race I have on 4/18. I'll be doing a good amount of running. After the race, I'm going to be running 5 days/week and lifting 3 days/week and will only post my lifting so as not to bore everyone with my running  :)rotf

EDIT: We'll see how I do in my 200m race and determine how my schedule will be after. I've always wanted to be on a college sports team, but going to Collegiate Nationals for Weightlifting might be better (I'm only 7kg off from the qualifying total).

Ran a time-trial today to get my seed time for the race. My friend timing me laughed and told me to go back to strictly lifting. I looked at the time and completely agree. I'm not even going to tell me time, let's just say I ran faster my 1st year of track in highschool with no training and completely out of shape. I am at a whole new level of disappointment and completely embarassed. My friend wants me to keep my aspiration of throwing javelin next year since the only real training you can do for that until in-season is lifting and medicine ball work which is what I do anyways. And, this week has been nothing but excruciating acute soleus and ankle pain. I'll continue to do forms of cardio to keep bodyfat extremely low as it is. I just don't have it anymore, I don't like that but facts are facts. I'm going back to being the unique person on campus in that I'm the only one olympic-style lifter. Maybe this summer I'll have my friend who threw in high school teach me the basics along with the throwing coach at my old high school. My problem is that I just want to be good at everything... problem with that is that it doesn't really get you anywhere. I think I've done enough ranting, time to ice my entire lower extremeties.

Monday  4/13/09

Back Squat
115x 5
140x 3
165x 1
185x 5
195x 5
205x 5

Snatch
89x 2, 2
111x 2, 2
133x 1+f+1, 2, 2, 2

DB Bench Press
40s x 8
50s x 8

Notes: The working sets on Snatch felt surprisingly heavy; the last set of squats was pretty heavy so hopefully I was just a little gassed from that. Had to use dumbbells today for bench due to no barbell benches being open.

133x 1, 1

Rack Jerk
155x 10 doubles

Snatch
89x 3
111x 2

Notes: The rack jerks felt good, I still have to find a smoother way to bring the weight down to the rack position when doing more than singles. I wish I had jerk boxes to use.
