I'd have to agree with Gene. There is no such thing as legs that are too big. If tha is a problem, than I wish I had that problem! (Although, I do like people's reactions when I lift in front of them. They can't believe I can do what I can with my legs being so small

Big legs are good thing! But, I know well your problem. Every year I outgrow my pants. We need the Olympic weightlifters version of Apple Bottoms for women.

I don't think your training has anything to do with it. I, and most of the guys I train, do almost nothing but singles and doubles for most of the year, and our legs still get bigger. I'm convinced that thighs and ass respond differently to training that the upper body for most people. (Maybe they have a higher percentage of fast twitch muscle fibers that respond better low rep training.) Whatever the cause, Olympic lifters the world over have massive thighs and ass.
My Step-Dad is Bulgarian and was a member of their Olympic Gymnastics team back in the late 70's and early 80's. He and his gymnast friends used to make fun of the Oly lifters for their HUGE butts. (And the oly lifters made fun of the gymnasts for having tiny legs!)
We all know the Bulgarians weren't doing high rep squats. They squatted all the time, heavy singles. And their legs and asses were massive.
So, the lesson is that someone here needs to start a clothing company for men who workout and don't just sit around all day.
Here's a pic of Fred Lowe from the Oldtime Strongman Blog:

So a quick FYI, I recently checked out new SilverTabs--and they really aren't anything like the ones I got a few years ago. The one store where I found some was discontinuing them, and the ones they had were a thinner material, that almost had a bit of stretch. They still fit OK, not as well as they used to, but my guess is that they won't be nearly as durable as the old ones have been.
Maybe they had to kill off the old ones, they were too good and lasted too long!

Nick,
In the mid-70's when I trained with Fred Lowe (at MSU) would you believe that 20-40 guys would absolutely stop their training just to watch him go through his sets of squats ?! I,too have also had the trouble of getting jeans , pants and trousers - for suits to fit even properly. It did take a few years for my girl, eventually my wife to believe all this unusual circumstance for clothes, but she is used it. I'm sure that Fred had a bit more trouble than me since he's 5 ' 3 ' and my height is 5 ' 9 ' .
As for you Doug,be glad that you can fool a lot of people with your lifting ability and you don't have to go through several fittings and maybe that's just for jeans ! You are the same Doug Berninger that I see down at the Toledo meets, right ?!
Best regards,

Dave,
Wow! I didn't realize Fred was so short. Now I feel tall! ... I'm not. :)
But, I would certainly believe that he'd be a fascinating figure to watch lift.
