Good luck Hillbilly!

My 42nd birthday is on March 12th.  I may do the challenge with you.  I would hope to squat 385+, bench 275 and deadlift 405.  For the snatch, I would be happy with a 210 snatch and a 285 clean and jerk.  I weight around 204#.

Keep training smart!

Thank you Paul and have a great Birthday. I sure hope to meet you someday. I read all your posts and find them most interesting. You have quite an impressive total going there espescially with your Olympic lifts. 285 is really an awesome C & J for your age. Keep up the hard work. Yes at this age we best train smart. I only max about 3 times a year. March (Birthday), September (Labor Day meet), and ??? meet, ... Goodluck, Hillbilly. ):wlfter

Thanks Scott!

Hey, you should come to the American Masters Meet this year.  Tim Guarino is running it at York.  Should be a fantastic meet at a great venue.  Plus you get to see the Weightlifting Hall of Fame that is there again.  I can't wait and hope to get a 300# clean and jerk by that time.

Welcome to WE Scott.

I keep hoping that you and I can hook up and train together someday.  I am now officially a USAW club coach.

Still in Charleston.  Ocassinally Training with that little Pfister and that tiny Siders.  Coaching at CrossfitWV.  Should have our own Club set up pretty soon.

All the best,
 Arden

Hi Mr. Deal. Yes you are right. about my snatch. I haven't been able to train so much of late since i 've been training alot of youngin's. I have a very talented group of young men and ladies who haven;t ever lifted in a meet but believe me, when they do, There lifts will be impressive. I train alot of kids for sport specific training and work calling collegiate coaches for help in getting a scholarship. All my lifters have at least a 3.75 grade average to a 4.0. I am heading to the Arnold Classic and to Pittsburgh Pa. Nike High School football combine on Saturday. I have about 4-5 players thats going to participate. If I am not coaching, I am on the computer or telephone speaking with assistant coaches, sending game films, ect... A coaches job is never done. Once I get things organized and my lifters squared away with there hopes and dreams of becoming NCAA Division One athletes, I will rock and roll in the gym. Just missed a 570 squat, lost another 6 pounds and I think that hindered me. I should snatch somewhere around 203.5 pounds, 252 C & J. Thanks, Hillbilly (See YA athe Arnold Classic tommorrow) :)peaceout
