Thanks, it felt pretty good!!
I did a power workout and MetCon Wednesday, then took my Payment Law final Thursday night (woooohooooo summer school is over).
Went up to Wichita Falls to workout with Glenn Pendlay today and got some issues fixed with my snatch. In a nutshell, I have been starting the snatch with my hips too high. I didn't write my workout down, but basically did about 8 attempts with 80 kg and missed 2-3 mostly working on getting my hips lower for the first pull.
Then clean & jerks up to 105 and 2 singles at 100 to finish the day and go to dinner with Glenn and talk. Very worth the 2 hr drive each way (I didn't drive, I went with a friend who invited me along).

Cool stuff. Are you going to Houston for the Aug 1 competition? I'm not going to be able to make it.

No, I won't be there. I have too many things to do while I'm out of school. I'll be doing a meet Oct, then American Masters the first weekend in Nov.

Well, I've decided that I won't be entering all of my workouts in here because I'm keeping a paper log right now. So, I'll just be posting highlights as they come.
Today I PR'd a triple clean with 100 kg!! I should have been able to do this before now, just never worked up to it. I'm not on a particular plan right now, just going by feel. It felt pretty good considering the snatches did not go well today.

Keith, I don't know if this will help you, but for myself, choosing a higher focal point at the start of the lift helps keep my hips down, shoulders high, and weight back.
Keep working hard.

Thanks Carl, I have been working on it pretty regularly, even if I'm not posting all my workouts here (actually nowhere right now) and I'm just a little inconsistent because of the timing of the lift and getting a good feeling for where my body should be. This weekend I finally felt a good start position, so now I will get my timing back in check.
Had an okay workout this weekend, considering I started the Hatch Squat routine, so my legs were trashed from the higher reps (up to 110 kg for 8 reps + front squats for 5's). I also got to workout with Chad Vaughn Sunday afternoon. Hopefully, once my legs get used to the higher reps, the lifts will get better.

Okay, got back from American Masters meet in York, PA. It went okay, but nothing exciting. I flew in Sat to Baltimore, then drove for about 1:30 north to York. Checked into the hotel, and went to the venue to check out start times and get in a light workout (hadn’t lifted since Wed and need to get in the groove a bit). Noticed that weigh in and session start had moved back an hour and a half (from 2 weigh in to 3:30), that sucked. Worked up to 65 easy snatch, and 85 clean & jerk. Then cleaned 85 and did 4 front squats. Everything still felt a bit stiff, but didn’t want to do more.
Sunday, I made weight after a small cut, 76.67 kg, went to eat, then waited a bit to start. I didn’t warm up enough, so I ended up taking more lifts than I normally do.
Snatch:
80 miss, out front, felt light, but got away from me
82 miss, again out front, but still light, just not in position
82 make, had to chase it, but got it!
Clean & Jerk:
102 make, got the total, and I was starting to feel pretty good, so
110 miss, cleaned it, but it was out front, so the recovery was hard, and not enough to jerk
110 miss, clean was better, but mistimed it, so recovery was hard again, missed jerk
All in all, good meet, I totaled and got the gold (only one in my class).
I got to see some records attempted and some made, so that was cool also.

I'll be starting this log back up due to Pendlay's forum taking too long to get posts up. It may be intermittent at first (due to time constraints), but will try a little harder to keep it going.
