Max Out Day
- The football team maxed in the clean, bench and squat today, so I decided to do it along with them.
Cleans (in lbs.) - 135, 185, 225, 250, 275, 295, 305x, 300! (new PR). I jerked all the weights up to 275.
Bench Press - 155, 185, 225, 250, 275, 285
Squat - 225, 275, 315, 335, 355, 365, 385, (called it quits at that point, I squated 415 last week).
So I totaled 1,000lbs (300+285+415=1,000).
One of the young athletes also totaled 1000 with a 275 easy power clean, 260 bench press and a massive 465 squat (for the school record) at a body weight of 182! I have been attempting to get him into weightlifting, but he has too much going for him with baseball and football right now. He may compete with me this summer when he can devote some time to the lifts. He is a gifted strength athlete.

No formal training yet this week. We got 20" of snow on Saturday and another 20" of snow on Tuesday night and all day Wednesday. I have gotten in non-traditional training by shoveling the snow.
This has been one of those snows that the kids will remember for the rest of their lives so I have been giving them every chance to play and enjoy. We built several snow caves and a tunnel today.

Paul: that is an incredible amount of snow. Take it from a person who lives in Québec where we used to get some wicked snowstormes. But for the last few years we only get a foot or two. By the way we are constantly made aware that shoveling snow can be dangerous if you are not used to it. Anyways congratulations for your personal record in the Cleans.

Owen, I grew up in Denver, CO and didn't see this much snow very often! It would snow 10-12 feet per winter in the mountains, but not in Denver. Since I have lived in PA, I have experienced snow like this a couple of times. Those Nor-Easters can be amazing. I find metorology to be fascinating and Nor-Easters are amazing storms. To get 2 of them within 4 days of each other following virtually the same path is virtually unheard of. We are supposed to get another 3-6" on Monday!
