59 kg class Atlanta

I have put up Canadian coverage of the 59 kg class at the 1996 Olympics. It includes some interesting moments. You be the judge.

Lifters are Nickolai Peschalov, Leonidas Sabanis and Ningsheng Tang.

Just saw this a few minutes ago, thanks alot! The chinese guy had a surely strong lockout, he just stood there with almost triple bodyweight over his head for a good 15 seconds!

Great video. Insane weights! That #3 judge was pretty tough and consistent. I grew my hair long last year like the greek guy but it didn't seem to help me!

Tang from China is deaf which is why he just stood there with the bar overhead :) Waiting for a visible down signal.

Wow. That makes that video just that much more fun to watch. Great lifting. That coach is still a very high ranking coach/official in chinese weightlifting. Either the head of the men's section or both the men's and women's (above the head coaches).

I really like watching Peschalov clean & jerk and Sabanis lift in general. Stylewise, I would like to emulate them.
