Firing order? Ankles before knees
«
on:

When I snatch my firing order seems to be wrong and I'm not sure how I can correct it. I seem to come up on my toes too early not achieving full extnesion. My ankles extend before my knees?
Any ideas how i could correct?
Thanks

I only have an old camera and I'm unable to upload the video to the computer. Sorry

Steve,
This is a fairly common mistake in beginner and intermediate lifters. I teach my athletes to pull through their heels. This seems keeps the weight back and closer to the body so that it is almost impossible to go up on the toes until the very end of the lift.
Since there is no video to evaluate the problem, I would guess that the barbell is too far away from your body and that you aren't scooping the barbell in the 2nd pull correctly. The bar should scrape your thighs. If the bar is even 2" from your thighs the weight will be over the front of the foot and you will on your toes to early and often miss the lift out front of you.
Hope this helps and that it is on the right track.
