Thanks Keith!  I hope that this added strength will aid in a bigger total.  Can't wait until May to see if it will.  My next competition is in May!

Workout, 3/6/2009

As promised last week and yesterday, I wanted to see what I can clean today.  A few weeks ago, I failed at 285#.  Pretty close once and not even close the 2nd attempt.  So after my typical warm up, which I took a little more time today to do, I did these attempts in the clean:

- 5 x 135#
- 2 x 3 x 185#
- 2 x 1 x 225#
- 1 x 245#
- 1 x 265#
- 1 x 275#
- 1 x 285# (A New PR!!!)
- 3 x 1 x 300# (only got under it once).  Not quite ready for 300# just yet, but 2-3 weeks more training and I will!

Here is video of the PR!

That was rediculously easy, congrats. Just work the pulls more and you'll be doing 130kg on a consistent basis.

Nice lift! Congratulations on the pr. To paraphrase a famous hammer thrower and coach, "More back". He always says "More left", but what I mean is, your heels are coming off the ground too soon, keep the weight back and heavier weights will start going up. I would like to see the attempts at 300.

136kg Clean - Miss

Here is video of 2 of the misses.  I certainly pull it high enough!  And the 2nd attempt I actually catch it high enough.  Comments are welcome.

Carl, I have been diligently working on staying back on my heels and I have improved greatly, but alas I still could improve.  You are right on with that observation!  Good eye!

PAUL , YOUR 130 KG LOOKED  INCREDIBALY EASY! YOUR PULL TEC. HAS REALLY IMPROVED  10 FOLD!! ON  THE 136 ATTEMPT  LOOKED EASY TO :)woohoo , THE ONLY THING I NOTICED AND PERHAPS CAUSED YOUR MISS IS  WAT I NOTICED ...  IN THE 130  WHEN YOU  RACKED THE BAR IN THE CLEAN YOUR HEAD WAS UPWARD IN GOOD POSITION . AS YOU CATCHED THE WT. WITH THE 136   YOUR HEAD WAS LOOKING DOWNWARD AT THE PLATFORM, I THINK THIS MADE THE DIFFERENCE  OF A MISS .. TRY SOME  TEC WORK CATCHING THE BAR IN THE SQUAT WITH YOUR HEAD  UP WARD. JUST MY THOUGHTS.  IMO  YOUR CAPLBALE OF THE 136 NOW  ):wlfter  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GUY ! NOW  GO GET THAT 136! :)thumbsup
