Very nice lift. Since we tend to be more critical of ourselves, is there anything in the lift that you think could have been done better or differently? I can't see anything I would want to change.

Tread On Me At Dire Risk

Carl,
Yes, I have completely revamped my jerk over the last couple/few years. It is still a little inconsistent at heavy weights though improving. Anyway, I actually attempted this weight once before this video and missed the jerk. The clean was much better on the first attempt as there was not quite enough finish on the clean in this video and you can see I am slightly forward during the recovery as a result. It is a little hard to see in the video, especially if you haven't seen me clean a lot, but it would have made a more noticeable difference with 145-150 which I am sure I could have cleaned. I am very happy with the jerk however as I feel I have finally corrected the technical flaws I have dealt with throughout my career and it is no longer an uncomfortable movement.

Thanks for posting Chris, clean was especially beautiful. And the curtsy, with the bar overhead. Awesome lift!

Well done Chris. I had no idea you were 59. Wow. Just wow. Very inspiring.
Keep your chin up and moving forward.
All the best,

Thanks Chris for the lift analysis. Looking back at the video, I think I can see what you are talking about. A tiny fraction of a second longer on the pull would have helped.

First and foremost what a great lift. Excellent form and very strong impression given. I don't think that you had all that hard a time doing it. I think you have lots left for more.
Second don't fool around when you are lifting. Stay focused. You don't want to hurt yourself and lose the strength you have because of a possible injury. OK. Just a friendly tap on the knuckles Chris.
