Matt,
Tell Jim hi from LaDuke! He is a great guy and an astute observer of the lifts. He has helped me a lot, especially with my jerk about 2 years ago. My jerk was my weakest lift by far, but the information and guidance that he gave me has made that lift probably my best.
Good luck tomorrow and good lifting!

Unfortunately, wasn't able to get out to Jim today because of weather. Paul, I'll let Jim know you said hey when I email him. However, I had a HUGE day today on my own.

175 x 1 (10# PR)
185 x 1 (20# PR!!)
195 x f (failed on jerk, 20# PR Clean!!)

Welcome to the Body Weight Snatch Club. Not that exclusive of a club by weightlifting standards, but a pretty exclusive club on a human standard!
It is really fun to lift your bodyweight in the snatch.

Thanks Paul!! While you're correct in that it isn't an exclusive club, it's huge in my eyes considering I've really only been o-lifting since August.

MAtt,
Good lifting, you mention the CA forums earlier on; what are they?

Thanks Philip. Here's a link to CA:
http://www.cathletics.com/
They post a workout of the day if you want to follow a routine that's structured, I finally established my major weaknesses so I moved on to focusing on those instead. And, they have a forum section you can click on at the top. It's much like the one here. You can post logs, dicuss training, post videos for critiquing, etc. Hope that helped out some.

Monday 1/12/09
Snatch - heavy single
143 x 1
155 x F
2.5 hour rest
Clean and Jerk - heavy single
195 x 1 (10# PR)
205 x F (got under on the clean, but couldn't recover)
185 x 1
4x40m sprints
10min hard run
Notes: I feel like I could easily Jerk 205 now, just need to hit the front squats hard so I can recover from the clean.

Tuesday 1/13/09
Rack Jerk - 1RM
195 x 1
205 x F
200 x F
Front Squat
185 3x3
Notes: Jerk felt off, mainly because of the heavy jerking yesterday. Tomorrow and Thursday are going to be light days since the highschoolers want to see me Clean & Jerk at least 200 on Friday before I have to go back to living at college.
