All the women of weightlifting ARE BEAUTIFUL. Here's a sport w/ no age-fraud scandal, for even w/ the favoring of youth, it tends to take time to build the key element.

STRENGTH IS BEAUTY (even as it is also honor, etc.), and the skill and courage so well demonstrated in Beijing really confirm that.

However, some of these athletes are especially photogenic.

The US women are wonderful, but it was especially nice to see so many of the international competitors put the lie to the shallow presumptions about the attractiveness of female O-lifters.

Among the non-US 48's and 58's each had several extra nice-looking girls, and the 53's were especially well-graced by Julia Rohde

It is one of the greatest mistakes of T&F to not more effectively market the appeal of their sport by better showcasing the very attractive Yelena Isibayeva, Carolina Kluft, etc.

In weightlifting, it seems that there are many who could make a great highlight reel, even as the personality of almost all show thru heroic/joyful efforts/achievements.

I'll steadily get back around to re-viewing the 63's and up, but I have to say the petites have represented very well...

Maria de la Puente of spain, she wasnt in the olympics but she did metal at the 2008 euros in the 53 class.

It seems that the IWF really goofed to so limit the numbers of well-qualified women.

Many of the top Europeans were not there in Beijing.

I wonder if there were some injuries, but I say the main reason was the 4-lifter team limit.

It seems Rohde was a little injured for how much stronger she was at Euros, and a minor hitch in her walk.

I must shamefully admit that I find Melanie Roach absolutely breath taking.  Absolutely awesome smile, beautiful facial structure, and a physique to die for.

And I don't feel like a dirty old man in saying it.
