Arden, awesome workout, I enjoyed the videos again, thanks for posting. You progress swiftly; Your clean pulls are better I think. The hang cleans better even than the full cleans, because the bar is on the thighs at the start in the hang cleans. In the full cleans from the floor you could try to postpone the "explosion" until you feel the bar rubbing the thighs. This is quite hard to do, the lift will seem to go too slowly but you'll be surprised at the ease of lifting. I've added a Rob Macklem picture (I hope he doesn't mind) to show a perfect clean pull in this regard (imo)where the lifter is just in the explosion. I can't keep the bar this close so "late" in the pull yet.sjaak smorenburg
Arden, your progress in the last few weeks has been nothing short of amazing. Correct me if I'm wrong Sjaak, but I think what he is trying to say is to wait a little longer, get the bar further up your thighs, before your explosion.[/quoteCarl and Sjaak, Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm very OCD when it comes to performance. I'll post some of my event training sometime when I'm working on a technical issue - it's tedious at best. It comes to my aid when I'm looking to modify or change a flaw. I think I get what you're saying - keep the bar close and stand tall (don't cut the 2nd pull short), when I'm doing the full cleans. Is that closer to what Sjaak is meaning? I hope so. More to work on. What I'm finding is that the flaws a I have in one lift carrys over to the other - so the drill work and changes I make will have impact upon both. I think? Thanks again for the input. Means a lot to me.All the best, Arden

Only try to wait with the final shrugging until you feel the bar on the thighs. Premature shrugging (exploding if you will) will make the bar go forward more. This you can't change fast, it'll only take time. For the rest, just continue as you are, I think you're doing great! Sjaak Smorenburg
