Brian,

Pretty darn impressive for 3 months of training. Without a coach? Where did you learn your technique? Your snatches especially looked very good. You have a lot of talent. When you squat, you need to use racks so your squat weights are not limited by your ability in the lifts. Those squats were easy. Squat harder. In the clean, your brush needs to be higher on the thigh. In the jerk, your trail leg is jumping back farther than your front leg is jumping forward. They need to move equally forward and back. The trail leg should not lock but should remain bent.

I split this from the intro thread. Welcome to the site.  welcomehere:)

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the input.  I have no coach unfortunately, but I'm a born perfectionist.  I tape a lot of my workouts, watch for form problems in between sets, and then watch again after the workout several times.  I also have a training log at http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f49/trinitronmaximums-training-log-726083/, and the members there have been giving me input on my lifts.  I try to imitate the form of Olympic lifters I see online.

I've since started squatting in the rack - do you recommend back squats as well, or just front squats for simplicity at first?

Will work on moving my legs equally.  Jerks are still a problem for me, and always feel much more awkward than the cleans or snatches.  I'm not sure what you mean by "brush" -- is that at the beginning of the "second pull"?

Is there a designated area of the site where I should post further videos for form checks?

Sure, start a journal in the training journals board. I looked at that site. Bob Takano was your first response. Quite an honor. The thigh brush is where the bar brushes the thigh at the top of the pull just before the finish. Yours is too low in the clean. I recommend back squats as well as front squarts- roughly 60% of your squats in backs and 40% in fronts.

Ok I will make one today.  I'll try to get videos up about once a week.  I have a meet coming up on November 8, and I have absolutely no idea how to prepare for it.  Do you have any suggestions on things like warming up at the meet, mentally preparing myself, and choosing my lift weights?
