Jerking without a pre-stretch has got to be tough.
Funny enough, as Taylor said, it really isn't any/much harder. I believe I can jerk as much without stopping in between the clean and jerk as if I take the required pause.

I call them clean to jerks and they are fun.

What about that beastly 150k (5 FS) that you did yesterday?
Pretty nice to get a 10k PR in such a rep range!!

Taylor,
I'm in absolute awe of your strength! Hope you won't mind my comments, since I cannot approach the loads you use. Your clean & jerk. You mention you are late getting your knees forward. My thoughts: You start breaking the bar off the floor with your shoulders too far back, and then you have to get them forward again for leverage for the top pull. This moving the shoulders from back to front leaves you mispositioned when the bar is just above the knees. You then almost heave the bar to the shoulders, using the arms too much. I notice the wrist wraps, the wrists do take a lot this way. I think the less controlled top pull also influences the squat rack. It is too traumatic; in the squat, your toes point outwards, and the knees more inward. This shortens the life span for the knees joints.
I think if you keep the shoulders more in front from the very start of the pull on, your position for the "second pull" from above the knees will fall into place. As long as you pull upward on the bar keep the arms (as) straight (as possible), and drag the bar along the thighs, let the lever do the work, save your back and shoulders for the rest of the lift. If you pull this way, your knees will automatically move under and in front of the bar at the right time.

Thanks Sjaak for all of your comments. I totally agree with you regarding my shoulder position. It's one of the technical issues that I'm focusing on at the moment.
And today it paid big dividends, as I hoisted an all-time PR 118 kg snatch in training (also a 7 kilo workout PR).

I also established new front squat PRs, doing 160 kg for 2 sets of 3!
There's now just under 2 weeks until the Utah State Championships!

Good Job on the training and congratulations on the recent PRs.
I've only just noticed your log but I'll check on it more often now.
I'm not going to offer you any critique as your technique and strength are far advanced than mine.
I might add my own log for my training in this section also now.
Keep up the good work.
