Probably you set the bar near to the neck.
It didn't hurt. My legs just didn't seem strong.

10-10-11

PC&J
230x2+1
230x2+1

PC hang below knee
195x5 PR

Press
80x8x5

My back was really sore today, so I skipped RDL. I intended to power clean 230x3 for a PR, but it didn't happen. Next time.

I'm going on a vacation here. I'll keep lifting and taper off of this program. In 2 weeks I'll make one more push on the squat then start getting ready to compete.

Time for a long over-due update.

I went on vacation for a week, but still got some training in. It was a bit like a taper. Came back and hit three PRs. Power clean 230x3, Press 115x7, DL on 3" platform 385x3. The squat just wasn't there.

I'm going to be working off some of Carl Miller's old stuff related to Bulgarian training cycles. Not that it will actually look anything like that.  :)wink

10-24-11
Snatch from low blocks - 150x5x3
Squat - 300x8, 280x8, 260x8

10-25-11
CG Incline Bench - 135x8, 125x8, 115x8
Step-ups - 20lbx10x2

10-27-11
PC&J from low block - 210x3+1x3
Squat - 305x8, 285x8, 265x8

10-28-11
CG Incline - 140x8, 130x8, 120x8
DL - 370x5, 345x5

I'm using the safety squat bar right now. It really helps prevent me from using my back too much.

Last week was basically half way between this week and the week previous to last.

11-07-11
SN Complex*- 160x1x3
Squat - 320x6, 300x8, 280x8, 260x8, 240x8

11-08-11
CG Incline - 145x8, 135x8, 125x8, 115x8, 105x8
Stepups - 30x10x5

*SN complex is 2 Pendlay rows + 1 PSN + 2 BNPP + 1 SN. The rows and push press are done with the snatch grip. There was a discussion of upper back strength on the Pendlay forum, so I was experimenting. I really like the complex.

Two more workouts in this loading phase, including some beastly deadlifting.  ):wlfter
