Power clean and jerk

95x3
145x2
175
195
205
215
225
235
240 PR
215

Goodmornings

115x3
155x6x5

Actually was a pretty good workout. I don't think I stressed the knee very much. Mostly working on my pulling power. I may not bother squatting at all for the competition.

I did power snatches yesterday. Nothing special with those.

Sat 1-10-09

PC&J

95x3
145x2
175x1
195x1
215x1x5

Clean pull

235x1x3
245x1x3
255x1x3

Decided to do some clean pulls since I might not be able to hit any heavy cleans before the competition. My knee doesn't hurt, but it is a little sore, and I know any squatting will aggravate it. I'm trying to save it for one or two heavy snatch workouts, and see what I can get.

I've had a couple training sessions this work. I snatched 195, which is pretty good. I haven't done any squats because of the knee. I've done hard work this week, so pretty much everything is working against this competition this weekend. We'll see what happens.

Matt, congratulations with the 195 snatch!!   :)hail   :)applaud

Maybe the suspending of the squatting helps keeping flexible and fast for the comp. Would it have helped getting the awesome snatching? Loads of succes to you this weekend Matt!

Alright, here is the update:

Snatch

85 - no lift because I dropped the bar too soon.
90 - good lift
94 - good lift and the first snatch PR in 14 months!!!

Power C&J

110 - good lift

113 - no
113 - nope

Total - 204

Couldn't do squat cleans because my knee hurt after snatches. I was initial hoping for a 220-225 total, but my knee started giving me problems, and I couldn't squat for two weeks before competing. Also I only snatched over 85 once before hand, so doing 94 was tough, mostly because of upper body stability.

Matt, man, great going, thanks for posting the vids. Congrats with the four for six, in spite of the knee. The 95kg snatch was especially awesome, way to go! Good work on the P. clean&jerk with 110!! I do hope you'll get the knee figured out.
