Bigger weights in Texas
« on: Sep 16, 2008, 10:12 AM »
I recently moved back to TX, and consequently had a bit of a lay-off. My training right now is higher volume and lighter weights. My weight is still around 83-84kg. My last contest I bombed in the snatch (have a PR of 91), and set a PR in the jerk with 117. Here is the video for C&J:

Yesterday's workout: Mon 9-15-08

***All weights are in pounds***

Snatch

95x3
115x3
135x3
155x3x6

3 PC + 1 Jerk

145
180 for 6 sets

Squats

145x5
195x5
220x5x6

BNP - 85x5x3

Bench supported Rows - 170x5x3

Nice workout. Everything felt pretty good.

Jerk is looking a lot better. When I first saw you lift you were doing power jerks, and I thought they were pretty sloppy. Good luck in Texas

Thanks man. The split jerk is definitely better.

Messed with hang cleans, but any squat cleans hurt my knee right now.

I've had some kind of tendinitis issue with my left knee. Just in the very bottom of the squat position is where it hurts. I don't feel it with snatches though.

I felt great on squats today. I could have done another 8 sets. I just had a mind-muscle connection. I felt like I could stand up next to a mountain, and chop it down with the edge of my hand.

Chuck Norris or Jimmy Hendrix, perhaps

You must have been tired after that one Matt.
