I looked it up.  It sounds really good.
Have you tried it?

No but countless home theaters have it installed and the results are good. They do a test at most dealers by getting a small piece of drywall, then knocking on it and the sound transmits, then they get a piece with the Greenglue and it doesn't transfer the knocking noise.

I think with all the other options discussed, you are basically going to want to layer your platform so it is like plywood-> rubber mat -> plywood -> rubber mat -> plywood -> rubber mat -> concrete floor

If you get the greenglue I would put it sandwiched between plywood and rubber mats.

Chris,

If we can make these portable platforms for easy storage....all the Miami guys can use my local gym.

I finally found where to get the 2'x2' square impact "tiles" that you see in some playgrounds, and in the werksan platforms.

They actually come in up to 4" thick for absorbing falls of over 10'!!

Just google Bounce Back or outdoor playground tile.

I think 2.5" over 2x3/4" plywood for a full 4" (still think this is one of IWF's dumbest rules) for the side sections, w/ a solid plywood center where your feet start and should stay if you lift properly, should be good.

Also found rubber "pebbles" that have some intriguing applications...

I don't know how much help to you this will be since your garage is much more space to cover, but my dad used to have a recording studio in our basement.  He covered the walls with old carpets and rugs, and then put styrofoam egg cartons all over the walls.  It was pretty soundproof.  You could still hear it, but if you were upstairs it was so faint the fan on the computer drowned it out.

Here's another way, but I think the playground tiles are probably still better for the money:

What can he sue you for? If your not lifting when he's asleep, it shouldn't bother him. I can guarantee you that if he tries to sue you the case will just be dismissed.
