Iran's double Olympic champion, Hossein Rezazadeh, has been named as the manager and head coach of Iran's national weightlifting team.

Rezazadeh, known as the Iranian Hercules, was chosen by the Weightlifting Federation Technical Committee on Saturday morning.

Bahman Zare', Masoud Qasemi and Li Hongli from China were also selected as Rezazadeh's assistants.

The 30-year-old weightlifter suffered a knee injury last year and has not taken part in international competition since.

Rezazadeh holds world records in snatch (213 kilos), clean jerk (263 kilos) and total (472 kilos).

Li Hongli ? It makes me doubt it is true but, if it is, this is a very interesting coaching staff!

I guess Li Hongli immediately retired.

Wow, head coach at 30.  He's like the Iranian Jon Gruden I guess.

An Iranian international student in one of my classes wanted to talk to me about Rezazadeh today (I can never refuse to talk about weightlifting even in math class). I told him that Rezazadeh is retiring and has a new job, and he insisted that Rez is not retiring and wants to break his own records. We'll see! I think he's retired.
