I started lifting when I was about 23. I took a bit of time off to finish grad school and to heal from shoulder surgery. I currently live in Ann Arbor, and I hope to be able to surpas my previos best lifts of 127.5 and 162.5.

I've been reading for years, posting here on occasion, and thought it might be a good idea to formally introduce myself.
Name: Carl Darby
Age: 52 as of today.
Gender: Not sure.
Occupation: Teach math to teen aged criminals, mostly drug addicts and gang members.
Location: Mt. Charleston, Nevada
Team: none
How did you get started/involved in weightlifting?: Saw a guy doing snatches in my high school weightroom one day and was instantly hooked.
Years involved in weightlifting: 37
Athletic achievements: I've made it home from my lifting and throwing sessions alive every time so far.
Role in weightlifting: masters athlete
Coaching/educational credentials: none
Favorite weightlifter: Marcin Dolega
Interests other than weightlifting: math, throwing heavy things.
Other information you would like to share: I'm very happy to hear that the universe might not keep expanding forever, but contract again and give birth to a new universe. Forever expanding until even all the protons have decayed seemed like a dismal way to go.
