I just got invited by the Canadian Weightlifting Federation to lift at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. The best thing about this is that it's 100% covered by the Canadian Commonwealth Society. Canada was granted an additional slot (originally we had 4), but the higher ranked 56kg lifter (180kg total) dropped out, hence I'm going. I'm very excited for going into my first international competition, hoping for the best in October. Any questions you have to ask, go ahead and ask way.

I ask that you take plenty of pictures and share them with us when you get back. Good luck and congrats on making the team. Not many Canadian lifters get fully paid trips too!

Thanks guys.

For sure I'll take pictures Shaun.

The only things I have to wait for is my vaccinations and passport (most likely go to Victoria, BC for it).

Adriaqn,

Congratulations!!!  I have alway enjoyed watching you lift and I hope this is the first of many international competitions you get to go to.  Do us all in the "Northwest Family" proud.  Looking forward to the pictures.
