Nike Romaleos

FYI everyone the new Nike weightlifting shoes are finally available for sale on
Nike.com
.
I have been awaiting these since their announcement and seeing the pictures of the Chinese national team using them in some of their competitions last year. I'm contemplating replacing my old Adidas Adistars since the soles are falling apart and the heels have cracked, after only 2 years of use. I love the new Adidas Adistar's but I hate the choice (or lack thereof) of colors (WHITE???), and I'm a little cautious about purchasing another pair of wooden heel models to have them crack after only 2 years of use. Now I just wish I had the $180 to spend on Nike's.
Does anyone have an opinion regarding the build/design of the Romaleos's compared to the new Adistar's? Anyone planning on replacing their Adidas' with the Nike's?

I need a new pair of shoes badly, but the cost of Adidas and Nike are just out of hand. Fancy for fancy sake. I am buying a pair of these, which I am sure will work just fine:

The nikes are a good amount heavier than the adidas.

Looked cool until I read the blurb of their idiot marketing department beside the picture: "Dominate
the deadlift
in the Nike Romaleos Men's Weightlifting Shoe . . . "
Nice. Wonder how they perform on the pec dec?

Aye!!
My ol' blue suede Adidas are 20+yrs old -- how you wear them (even w/ decent weights) makes a difference.
I now wear some VS while my son uses the Adidas -- they're OK, but I bet the Adidas and Nikes are still worth the extra $$.
I can't believe how incompetent the Nike ad folks are, but then that has always been my gripe w/ them -- they just don't GET athletics/honor/victory.
So I'm hoping their failure to sell the shoe as the way serious athletes lift to succeed (you don't wear flip-flops to run suicides, why would you strength-train in shoes that O-lifters would not?)...
... will result in them being offered by EastBay for $25/pr next yr.

I've called around the local Sports Authority and Footaction stores who have them on their respective websites to see if they might have a pair for me to try on. Of course when you mention weightlifting shoes the clown who is the manager has no clue whatsoever what you're talking about.

I watched this video a while back and my immediate reaction was the urge to punch this "designer" who has no idea what he's talking about, "splits into a snatch position", I mean come one how hard is it to learn the verbiage of the sport. I agree about the "idiot Nike marketing department" and their incompetency.
