250 total at 77kg?
« on: Aug 14, 2008, 08:50 PM »
I was watching the men's 77kg division.  How does anyone total 250 and go to the olympics?  He opened at 100 snatch?  His 140 C&J looked hard. I understand injuries but the lifts looked solid, no grimacing, etc.  Jet lag can't be that bad can it?  Just curious.

Hey, don't criticize him!  He's truly inspiring.  If I lived in some obscure, unheard-of country, then I (in the name of Olympic fairness) could also be in the olympics!   ):wlfter

Don't give him too much credit, though.  I think he was an 85. pound:)

In all fairness, it's not his fault that he was selected, and he did his best.  It's the same problem that resulted in Casey Burgener not going.  Hmm... lets let someone who wouldn't even qualify for nats. in the U.S. go lift, instead of someone ranked 12th in the world.
Sounds fair to me :)ugh

maybe the USA should have its states enter individual teams , then you can play the same political games the Europeans do, any one notice that most of the turks have bombed??
There is no shortage of stories where a small business person has been hit with tens of thousands or more of legal costs from their own lawyers. Then there is the potential of having to pay for the other sides legal costs if the small business person loses
