I have a strange question, and it's more of a technicality than anything that would actually be done (I hope!).  In that picture of Rybakou, his knee sleeves are touching his singlet, which is technically against the rules...could the jury turn down that lift?

if I were ref I wouldn't really care....., I have seens a few international guys with their singlets touching their sleeves somewhat, in my last comp though they made one of my team mates bring his singlet up so he was showing leg before he did a clean&jerk though; I know I would be ROYALLY pissed off if I made a lift but it was disqualified because my singlet was touching my knee sleeves, I think it's kind of of a dumb rule.

what's it for again, to make sure nobody's wearing a squat suite underneath or something? you might as well have the guy take off his whole singlet to check that...

Wouldn't the TC have to catch it before the lifter begins the lift and stop it? I don't think they could overturn a lift because of the TC's failure. This is another good reason to just extend the singlete though because I bet this happens a lot and it would be easier, not harder, to see if something strange was under the hood in my opinion and as I said would eliminate blood on the bar from the shins which seems a much more important concern than these clothing standards.

I don't know I always liked the old-time strongman look of the weightlifting singlet, I think certain rules should just be more lax though.
