Where on your hand do calluses tend to rip the most often? Under which finger? Or is it on your thumb?

We may find that it will vary based on hand size. The way we grip the bar and the hand surfaces that are in contact vary based on this variable. Relative width of snatch grip also plays a factor as it changes the angle of the hand on the bar.

I'm less than 5'2" and my hands aren't big. My snatch grip is pretty wide for my height

I tend to rip the callous of the ring finger the most often, then the pinky finger callous. I've never had trouble on any other part of my hand.

When I was lifting it was usually the middle or index finger 1st joint down to the cushion distal section of the palm, sometimes the thumb but rarely
There is no shortage of stories where a small business person has been hit with tens of thousands or more of legal costs from their own lawyers. Then there is the potential of having to pay for the other sides legal costs if the small business person loses

I have only ripped a callous once and that was at the base of my ring finger on my right hand.  I usually shave the callouses off the base of my ring fingers about once per week leaving just enough callous to keep my hands tough enough to perform the lift.  I notice though that my left hand callous requires more shaving and is usually thicker.  I would imagine I would rip that one more often that the others.

BTW, I use a plain old single-edged razor blade for shaving.  Seems to work fine, just be carefull not to cut good skin.

I haven't ripped a callous in like 5-6 years. Once I discovered the keys to maintaining your hands, it stopped being a problem. I wrote an article about how to avoid them here:
