Back Pain - help!!
« on: May 20, 2008, 04:03 PM »
Started training again in January. Things have been going quite well apart from niggly elbow injury. Unfortunately my back has partly give way 3 times in the last month doing squat cleans. In omagh several weeks ago, I made a break through by cleaning 100kg but hurt my back and it took approx 1 week for the pain [lower back] to disappear. Today, i got to 82x3 no problem but tweaked the back again cleaning 90kg. Is it possible that the cause of my injury is that my technique breaks down at the heavier lifts?
I would be grateful for any advice. I really want to compete again but training is hindered because of this back pain. I dont think it is too serious because after maybe 7 days I can train again.

I would incorporate back extensions and reverse hyper extensions to strengthen your back.

You should video your lifts to watch your technique.
