My quick rant on doping in sports for anyone that wants to read:Doping use in sports is typically banned except in sports like strongman and bodybuilding which was previously stated. However, just because it is banned doesn't mean the use of these drugs are inherently immoral. How can a drug be immoral? It can't. The use dictates whether it is moral or immoral. This leads to the same medical debate for most drugs and their classification and uses. Do I agree that steroids should be a Class III substance? No, but taking them against the rules of the sport of weightlifting which means it would be unethical to use them for that purpose. However, when you spend ten years of your life in another country like russia from the age of twelve and are told you have the physical ability to be an olympian (in a country where it means much than in the USA) but all those guys you see go to the games from your country and taking these here injections, well what do you think the person is gonna do? Remember, they poured their heart and soul into their training for years. It is for that reason that I don't look down upon drug users from other countries. They arn't these raging drug addicts that many Americans (and American weightlifters) think they are. If you want to be on the national team, support your family and go to the olympics you have to do this, this and this says your national coach. You either do it or they find someone else who will and fulfill the dream you've worked so hard for. Right or wrong, you decide. Most top lifters compete multiple times internationally each year and they still usually need to pass tests at these events and most do pass them. This isn't strongman where guys inject and then hop on an airplane a day later to head to the World's Strongest Man competition. These guys literally time their cycles so the half lives of the drugs will be in perfect timing with the big competitions so they are as juiced up as they can be for these events. Yet, this is on ESPN and you would be surprised at the number of Americans that assume these guys are clean. I have told people that they arn't and they immediately look at me like I'm crazy. They then come to accept it and think the athletes are immoral and are cheating the American public. Well, how so? No drug testing in the rules, they are not cheating! This is a great example of governmental influence on public perception. People are willing to take very risky prescription drugs, even get dangerous surgery to fix flaws in their physique, yet taking steroids is looked upon as a similar crime to adultery in past generations. The government went against doctor's testimonies and made the drugs Class III substances and they now proceed to go after every athlete that they can find that takes them because it "sends the wrong message" according to Bush. I don't know if that is the worst part, or the worst part is the American public can't think for themselves and do their homework on what actually happened when steroids became a Class III substance. Be back later, I have to go train. On the way there I'll be driving by a pharmacy to watch all these moral American's pick up their dangerous medications because they were too stupid to eat correctly when they were young.
LOL. Okay. Which country are you going to? Which country on the planet has nothing in its history which will not embarrass you? And if the dark future is coming to the whole world, does that mean you are going to go to a different world?
