Contreras of Dominican Republic tests positive in post-Olympics test
LONDON (AP) — The last of the six athletes caught in drug retests from the Beijing Games has now been identified — it's Dominican women's weightlifter Yudelquis Contreras.
She finished fifth in her weight class last summer in Beijing, competing as Yudelquis Maridalin. The Dominican Olympic Committee confirmed the positive test Wednesday.
The International Olympic Committee said Tuesday that a total of seven positive tests involving six athletes came back positive for CERA, an advanced version of the blood-boosting drug EPO.
The others include 1,500-meter gold medalist Rashid Ramzi of Bahrain, and cycling silver medalist Davide Rebellin of Italy.

Dominican weightlifter faces sanctions for doping
Santo Domingo. – Dominican weightlifter Yuderkis Contreras resulted positive in a doping test during last year’s Olympic Games in Peking, the Dominican Olympic Committee and Dominican Weightlifting Federation confirmed yesterday.
The notification by the corresponding international organisms arrived in the country Wednesday morning, after newspaper Listin Diario on Tuesday reported the finding, regarding Contreras’ positive result for the consumption of a substance called Epo Cera.
Contreras, native of San Pedro (east), faces a sanction of two years and would miss the next Olympic cycle.
According to SI.com, the weightlifter, who finished 5th in the Beijing Games, has denied the accusation.
