Dandelion extract is a natural diuretic as is vitamin C in large doses (1.5g+). Trial them in training to better guage dosage, effects... and side effects.
Not all carbohydrates need to be avoided, only 'heavy' carbs like rice and breads that sit in your stomach and hold water.

One kilo is nothing! Don't drink much the day before the competition, go to bed with your clothes on, and take off your shoes when you weigh yourself, haha. The key is to be aware of your bodyweight in the weeks leading up to your competition, and to know your body. Learn how you react to certain diets, and learn how much you lose overnight. Since I'm in the 77kg, I know it's not the exact same thing, but if I went to bed the night before competition at 78kg, I wouldn't be too stressed.
Some tricks to lose those few grams before a competition are:
-Sitting in a car with the heat turned up (wearing warm clothes)
-Spit (chew some fat gum, like double-bubble, not dentine/trident etc)
-You could even go for a walk dressed heavily and breath heavily through your mouth. I would advise against running
-Sauna's are great, but I don't think you'll have that option at the BCs
Good luck.
Walter
PS Another super easy thing to do, is to stop drinking pop, eating chips, cookies, or any other junk if you do.

Quin,
I was planning on moving up until I got short-listed for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India that's going to be happening in the 2nd week of October last week. I have to drop down to the 56kg catagory if I want to go (trip's free to boot if I quailfy for it at Sea Festival) because of Francois Chenier being in the 62's and doing way more weight.
Walter,
I can do that (except for the sauna). I'm not a much of a junk food fan so it should be easy to do that (only have pop once in a while). I just don't want to put myself in a position that I couldn't compete in a international competition if you read what I typed to Quin above.
David,
Thanks for letting me know about that. Didn't expect rice or bread to be that heavy (not eating that before I've a competition
).

well ur going to have to hold ur weight back alot u didnt make weight at juniors in 4 months how much will u weigh and in 8 i dont know man ull be really holding urself back. also if ur total doesnt get up to roughly 175 which would be lucky to get a medal. last years 3rd place was 182.5 so 175 would be cutting it if only liek 3 people showed up.
