How to lose weight in a short amount of time

Hi Guys,
I need your input of how to lose weight for the 56kg. I have the BC Junior Championships on April 5th and right now, with my shoes on I weigh around 57kg.
Thanks!

Sometimes a low carb diet can be enough.
Another way is "boiling" in a hot tub or shower. You can lose about a kilo in a half hour if it's hot enough. Though you may need a "spotter" because it is possible to pass out. After the shower/tub throw on a bunch of sweats and hang out in the hot room for a while. This works every bit as well as a sauna, but is easier to access.

Does Coach Ed still think you should stick around at 56 kg? Anyway shoes weigh half a kilo so you're only 0.5 kg overweight so the plan is easy - don't eat much for a couple days. BUT Are the BC Juniors really important enough to keep restricting your weight? Would you place any differently in the 56 kg versus 62 kg classes? Adrian Chatelain is too far ahead at the moment whereas it looks like you would be number 1 in 62 kg juniors in BC. Unless you know he plans to move up :)
It's one thing for the oldsters to try and restrict weight because they aren't growing. You're still on your way up in size and leanness isn't an issue with you.

Like Shaun said you are not that much over especially since you weighed with clothes on. I think he has very valid points. Plus, dont you have a few months still, cut out a few calories from your diet and see if you can gradually get the weight down a little over time which takes patience. But in the long run healthier.

Shaun,
The reason I want to compete in the 56kg is for the Juvie (16 and under) Clean and Jerk record of 82.5kg (done by Chatelain) and possibliy the Snatch record. Chatelain has been working in Westbank and barely has time to train. I recently got 82.5 for a pr in training, and it felt easy. I would place in the 62kg as well.

Sitting half a kilo over is no big deal. If you restrict too much you will stop gaining on your lifts and squats. I sit at 64-65kgs and am moving up. But I would be just as comfortable to go down if I needed to.
