STOP doing HALF squats and start doing FULL squats and that includes in the front squats :)banghead

In the jerk you are using your arms too much too soon.  Relax your arms and use your legs to drive the weight up and the instant the bar gets about forehead height use your arms to push YOU into the split.

Use straps if you must, Ivanov is in one of the videos using them to clean & jerk 170+ kg as an overweight 56 kg lifter

What College is this? PM me if you don't want to say.

your knees aren't getting out of the way enough so your moving the bar around your knees and then bringing it back in and when  hit your second pull your swinging the bar and jumping forward into a receiving position......

Try widening your jerk grip by another inch on each side. What kind of shoes are you wearing?
My claim to fame is that I was the Fl. Olympic Weightlifting Champ in the 148's from 73-75 as a 17, 18, and 19 year old. Then I went to college, got married and that was that! www.TheUpperRoomRecordingStudio.com
