New York "Bumper Grip" Bumper plates.

Hello fellow Forum members,
York has put out a new line of competition colored spoked "bumper-esque" plates. Does anyone have any experience with them already?
I'm training at home on rubber matting, using the York full-rubber bumpers for impact absorbsion when missing.
i'm videoing my lifts for reviews, and the coloured new plates would spice things up. Also, the see-through feature can be an asset.
anyone has comments on the quality of these new plates?
Many thanks,
Sjaak Smorenburg

Others have said that the spoked weights are not really meant for dropping. The spokes are for ease of handling in the fitness clubs, and the rubber is to save the floor. I don't have first hand experience however so I cannot say. I believe that the solid rubber bumpers that you already have are the way to go.
