Canadian Juniors results and article
« on: Jan 25, 2008, 09:45 AM »
The Manitoba Weightlifting Association recently posted the results of the Canadian Junior championships on their web site. Thanks, Manitoba! I see some familiar names, including some locals from Ontario, as well as Adrian Cadmus Dixon, Aaron Webster, Quin Kroschinski of these forums and William Bailey, Walter's brother. I am impressed by BC's results this year.

And in Victoria BC there was a news article featuring one of their local stars, Amrinder Sahota.

You can go to the link for the full article and photo of Amrinder.

Winfield (Lake Country) BC

I have just realized that Winfield was actually the host of the Canadian Juniors. Apparently Winfield is part of a municipality called Lake Country. I didn't know that.

Is there a weightlifting club and a contact in Winfield that a BC lifter can tell me about? I have a family member living in Winfield and I plan to visit sometime this year.

Unfortunately the BC Weightlifting federation's domain name was hijacked.

Hi Shaun,

It is me who lives in Lake Country (Winfield) for 3 years now and since being here I have hosted the BC High School Championships, the Western Canadian Championships, and just recently the Canadian Junior Championships. Although I presently train out of my garage, I will soon have a facility which will accommodate 4 platforms. I will probably be hosting the Canadian Senior Championships in May of 2009.

yeaaa didnt do that well there missed 95 twice which was really bunk but i made it i made 100 at the provincials and just missed 105 because of my hands i had 3 torn calus. I tied for 3rd place but lost on bodyweight because the coach thought since i missed my 112 which is usually easy he said i shouldnt jump to much and isnce i was 5 kgs ahead of the 4th place guy i did 114 and he did only 112 so he needed 119 to beat me and he did which sucks cause i did 120 2 weeks b4 the comp easy.
