Big congrats go out to little Sarah Davis on her national championship win in the 53s!  Way to get it done Sarah!  It's a very difficult thing to do - to train hard while holding on to every bit of muscle you can to get yourself into a weight class that fits your height better.  Takes a whole ton of self-discipline and determination to train and eat exactly right in order to reach your goals - NICE JOB GIRL!!!!

Wow!!

She cut a full 5k from Coll Nats JUST SEVEN WEEKS AGO!!

That's almost 10% of her bdwt...

Seeing her train last summer was a great example of the kind of dedication that makes success!!

Can anybody figure out why Matt Bruce did 186 then followed himself with 187? He was clearly good for 190, and Farris was clearly struggling with the jerk. Just seems like a bad decision that likely costed him the championship.

By the way, Bruce's new-found strength is awesome.

OK, 9+lbs to weigh in ON THE LIMIT.

It WAS costly, taking 16k off her Total, so the Coll Nats were better, Sinclair and even %-wise,

but a FULL National Champ thru some of the toughest preparation there is.

Also REALLY cool to see Amanda Hubbard add 3k to her stateside Nat's PR --

truly at the top tier of technical/competitive amazing!!

Another awesome day for Megan Krantz, 6-for-6 to add 1/1/2 to her amazing Coll Nats win!!

I was wondering the same thing, that seemed like a retarded way to finish off the championship; anybody else noticed how huge he was looking?

I was originally wondering why the hell farris was struggling with weights in the 180-188 range when his max is 202 but then read he'd injured his shoulder in beijing, any news on how that's coming?

I heard Farris was coming back from an injury as well, shoulder or wrist I can't remember which.  When did he switch his jerk technique also, I didn't see him lift at the Olympics but his old pics of him lifting he had a split jerk this weekend he had a squat jerk?

farris used the power jerk in the olympic trials and in the olympics; on his 180 I think the weight drove him down (like with dimas and his 215 clean&jerk in sydney) cause maybe his shoulder wasn't taking it
