Dane Hussey:
Do any of you Masters do any form of aerobic exercise, such as running or walking, etc? During the 20 years that I wasn't lifting, I was running (jogging and sprints). I quit the running when I started back lifting last October. It was too stressful on the knees along with cleans and squats. I still walk 3 or 4 days a week. It helps me from getting winded while lifting, and my resting pulse rate is the same as it was when I was running. It is also great for clearing the mind and just enjoying being outdoors.
John Mosca:
I do bicycle riding about 100 to 125 miles a week easy pace, Brooks saddle, wool riding shorts. Check out rivbike.com and check out their About Us page. You'll like it.
Don Weideman:
I just can't run anymore for various reason that don't need to be addressed now. I have been , ironic it seems, power walking for the last couple of years. I'm still surprised at the condition I can maintain with 40 minutes of a deliberate paced walk 5-7 times a week. It's not as intense for me as running. Not so much because of respiration and heart rate, but mainly the pounding the joints take. I look forward to my walks. I get a good sweat and lots of fresh air and sunshine. I save my intensity for the lifts.
Neil Wasserman:
I like to walk every day (about two miles at a moderate pace mostly determined by what the dog is in the mood for  . Because of cardiac problems, my lifting is confined to very light weights for sets of 5-10 reps (by very light, I mean around 50 lbs). I'm 62 years old in another week.
