Bumping this thread since it was split from another topic it had strayed in to. Updates and further discussion about James Moser and/or Abajiev's program are welcome. Lets try to stick to that topic, myself included. Sorry for any confusion.

No significant difference IMO but I've never been a close observer. Great lifting and enviable technique.

Unfortunately, we don't know how long James was training with Abajiev so we really can't judge the effectiveness of the program out there by James' result, which you couldn't do by one athlete in one meet anyway. And, we don't know what else might have affected his performance. But, I think James looked a little more under control in this meet technically compared to the past and I am sure its only a matter of time until he steps up another level, maybe something like 165-170 and 195-200. I would predict 6-12 months for the low end and 12-18 for the high end. Of course, predicting the future is tough, especially where humans come in to play. Either way, he is doing fantastic for his age and hopefully will be able to improve further for the senior nationals.
