Korean Men's Team 2007
« on: Sep 10, 2007, 02:23 PM »
According to the entry list:

I will omit the names to save myself some typing but it seems like they have their best team ever to this year's worlds

56 - 285 total (tied for 2nd)
62 - 290
69 - 345 (ranked 2nd)
77 - 2 at 360 potential medallists
94 - 370
105 - 380
+105 - 430

They lack a superstar of the calibre of Chun Byung-Kwan but overall it's a very solid team.

What other countries appear especially well-prepared, or noticeably absent/weak?

Other nations:
I notice a Cuban lifter is leading the pack in one of the classes (94), we haven't seen that for a long time
Greece - Victor Mitrou in 85 but looks to be in Group C so far
Bulgaria - a couple of possible group A lifters in 62, and in 69, group A lifter in 77, George Markov is back and in the 85's, Alan Tsagaev is pretty strong this year but not up to his previous level
Turkey - 1 A lifter in 56, a couple in 69 probably group B, Reyhan ARABACIOGLU is back this year, and so is Sudas in 105,

Argentina is completely absent but I was expecting that after communicating with some of their members. I would love to train with them in Buenos Ares someday.

Over to you guys
