Attention Ronald Mann: 1989 Jr Worlds Results
« on: Aug 28, 2007, 06:43 PM »
Ronald,

I have the complete video for the 1989 Junior World Championships from Jim Schmitz with permission to publish it and I recall on ironhistory.com that you mentioned you have a copy of the results. Is there any chance you could email or mail me a scan of them to go with the video I am going to publish soon?

Thanks very much

Ronald,

Never mind on that. Jason Stanly sent me the results. Thanks anyway.

Hi Chris
Sorry about the tardy reply - I saw your request last night but was unable to action it at the time,as although I have a copy of the magazine containing the full results of the 1989 Junior Worlds,I don't possess a scanner. I had intended to try and borrow one today, however I see that in the meantime another member has kindly supplied you with the required information.

Regards and best wishes
Ron

This wouldn't by chance have a young Botev? Kakhiasvili?
Just wondering, should be pretty cool vid.

No Botev, but very big lifting from Ivanov, Yotov, Kakhiashvilis and Weller. I'm working on 88 national juniors now, then will do the 89 senior nationals, and then the 89 jr worlds.

Cheers

Ronald,

I was wondering if you could take a look at the results for the 1989 Junior Worlds I have published. There were a couple smudges on the source papers I have of the results making it impossible to read 3 of the athlete's full names (56 & 82.5 classes). There are question marks in them and I was hoping you could complete their names for me. It would be most appreciated. Here is the link: http://weightliftingexchange.com/smf/index.php?topic=3850.msg13013#new

Thanks, and by the way, you were correct on IronHistory- no 4th attempt and no junior world record clean and jerk for Weller. He "only" got a Jr World Record in the snatch with 205@110.

Thanks

Hi Chris
Here are the names that you require:
56kg:
Albert Nasibulin
Luo Jianming
82.5kg:
Cristiano Orru'  (this is how this name is printed in the full results published in NO.155 of Denis Reno's "Weightlifters Newsletter" - there may possibly be a letter missing after the 'u',but if so then sorry, but I have no idea what it might be).

Regards and best wishes
