Rich Bucinell wins gold medal at World Masters Champs

Endwell native Rich Bucinell won a gold medal last weekend at the World Masters Weightlifting Championships in Kazincbarcika, Hungary.

Bucinell, 43, who resides in Alexandria, Va., won the gold medal in the over-105 kilogram weight class for males ages 40-44. He won with a two-lift total of 305 kilograms.

His victory adds to a resume that includes eight national titles and two international titles. Bucinell currently holds the national Masters record for clean and jerk in his weight class with a lift of 186 kilograms set on April 1 at a meet in Savannah, Ga.
